CONCORD, NC (WBTV) – Police searched a sweepstakes gaming operation and seized what they say is a “significant amount” of cash and equipment in Concord Thursday.

According to the Concord Police Department, officers executed a search warrant at The Concord Biz Center on Concord Parkway in Concord.

Police say a “significant amount” of cash and computer equipment related to the illegal operation of sweepstakes gaming was seized during the operation.

Concord police are reportedly in the process of obtaining felony warrants for the owner of the Concord Biz Center, Johnny Heath Page, of Kannapolis.

Police say it is anticipated that Page will be charged with possession of five or more electronic gaming machines as defined by North Carolina General Statute 14-309(B).
